Facebook Ad Clicks more common with Older AdultsFacebook pages and ads are a great way for brands to reach their target audiences. However, it turns out that age plays a role in whether your campaign should focus on Facebook ad clicks or likes. A new research study from Socialcode has shown there that age and gender make a difference when it comes to Facebook marketing.

It turns out that older adults, defined as those over age 50, have a preference for Facebook Ads. As a whole, the 50+ senior set are 23% more likely than all younger age groups to click through Facebook advertisements. Compared to 18-29 year olds, they are 28% more likely to click on ads. They don’t go for liking pages as much, though. Seniors are 9% less likely to click the Facebook “Like” button and follow a page.

Women are also more Facebook-ad friendly than men. The fairer gender was 11% more likely to click on ads than their male counterparts. However, men and women tend to Facebook “Like” pages at the same rate.
