Senior Software Engineer

We’re seeking an experienced software engineer who can help us design and build components for our platform and the toolsets that support them. You will also help us optimize and scale as our user base grows. We’re a fairly versatile group of engineers, and as such, could make use of either another generalist or a specialist in areas like web UI, map/reduce-style scaling, etc.We’re platform agnostic, but tend to be Mac snobs. We spend most of our time hacking Python, MySQL and JavaScript using libraries and tools like Dojo, Memcache, Hadoop, and Protovis.

Crowd Science engineers take part in all aspects of software development from design, programming and debugging to deployment and optimization.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years designing/developing large-scale internet software systems.
  • Experience working with Python, or the confidence to be productive as quickly as someone who is. Bonus points for Django.
  • Experience in database design and development.
  • Deep familiarity and opinions on internet protocols and formats like HTTP, REST, JSON, and Atom.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or mathematics, or equivalent experience.

Account Manager

Account Managers work with Crowd Science customers to ensure success of our products. Crowd Science’s platform is a holistic combination first-party demographics, psychographics and best-in-class machine-learning technology that improves publisher display advertising precision and increases revenue.

Account Managers are ultimately responsible for ensuring Crowd Science exceeds our publisher’s expectations. Account Managers will be involved in all aspects of customer success including: kick-off, data collection/segmentation, ad server integration, campaign plan creation, campaign launch and results.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain significant relationships with our customers (users, decision makers & key stakeholders)
  • Work with research, product and engineering teams to manage day to day account management around implementation, ramp-up and continued success
  • Identify audience segments and new campaign opportunities to aid in the generation of hyper-targeted media plans using Crowd Science’s platform
  • Provide front-end project management and customer service support
  • Analyze and effectively communicate client program results relative to goals
  • Manage general and specialized client requests; including on-boarding transition and set-up, billing inquiries, platform activity inquiries, account requests, and feature/product enhancement requests from existing clients
  • Contribute to internal product development planning

Education and qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience managing install base (background working for an ad network or large web publisher a plus)
  • Strong understanding of Internet advertising a must (account set up, inventory and tag management a plus, click reconciliation, etc.)
  • Self-starter and demonstrated track-record of executing a project through to successful completion
  • Outstanding computer skills including solid knowledge of Saleforce.com
  • Bachelor’s degree

Sales Executive (NYC)

Crowd Science is seeking an accomplished, aggressive sales rock star to join our sales team.

We need an aggressive self-starter ready to take their sales career to the next level. Crowd Science is growing rapidly, thanks in part to our innovative demand generation programs that generate name brand opportunities for our sales team to close. Your job would be to turn those qualified opportunities into meetings and ultimately…delighted customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Exceed quarterly sales quotas.
  • Develop and execute on a high quality territory plan.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Inside Sales/Sales Development teams to maintain and expand the database of prospects.
  • Effectively sell to VP’s of Research, Sales, Marketing and C-suite prospects
  • Maintain accurate forecasts and close business on time.
  • Execute effective prospecting skills, product demos and presentations to prospects and customers.
  • Quickly qualify prospects in or out of funnel.
  • Leverage and consistently maintain SalesForce.com for forecasting
  • Develop and maintain industry expertise in the online advertising, advertising ecosystem & market research space.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Strong candidates must have 10+ years of selling experience (3-5 years in online advertising a plus) and have a “consultative” value based approach to selling into the enterprise. A background in working in a fast-paced growing company environment is a plus.
  • Ideal candidate would have demonstrative experience from companies such as Yahoo, Google, Bluekai, eXelate, Demdex, AdMeld, Audience Science, Lotame, Adify, Collective etc…
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent

Sales Development Representative (San Jose, CA)
